Every document that is brought for attestation needs to be translated by a court interpreter (into English or Arabic), and certified from the Primary Court, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is also necessary to provide the following documents:

  • For the citizens of the Republic of Serbia that work in the State of Qatar, or whose spouse is working there (the spouse is the sponsor and provides the following documents)
  1. Copy of the passport
  2. Copy of the employment contract
  3. Proof of employment which is issued from the employer and is signed and stamped (in case there is no contract)
  4. A copy of the Qatari ID (front and back)
  5. A signed authorization for the person who will receive the documents, containing passport numbers of both parties. The authorized person must have a copy of his/her passport when collecting the certified documents.
  • For the citizens of the Republic of Serbia that applied for work in the State of Qatar or got accepted for work
  1. Copy of the passport
  2. Proof of employment or the intention of employment issued, signed and stamped by the employer (job offer)
  3. A signed authorization for the person who will receive the documents, containing passport numbers of both parties. The authorized person must have a copy of his/her passport when collecting the certified documents.
  • Citizens of the Republic of Serbia who are employed in Qatar and cannot deliver the documents in person, can send a scanned version of these documents to the email address: cons.belgrade@mofa.gov.qa

A valid Serbian driving license can be converted into a valid Qatari license without any additional driving tests, as the Republic of Serbia was included in the list of countries whose driving license can be converted into a valid Qatari driving license directly according to the principle of reciprocity

Driving licenses issued in EU are recognized in Serbia. Other driving licenses must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP). A valid Qatari driving license can be converted into a valid Serbian license without any additional driving tests.

Foreign nationals coming to the country as tourists, travelling on business, or transiting, may import an unlimited sum of foreign currency. The amount of foreign currency they carry is to be reported to the customs officers in order to obtain a document based on which they can take that amount with them when first leaving the country.

Payment cards may be freely brought in and out of the country. Foreign nationals may also take out the foreign currency they withdrew from their foreign currency accounts or foreign currency savings account, provided they have the document issued by the bank confirming that.

The amount of foreign currency that can be taken when leaving the Republic of Serbia is unlimited amount, but its value should not exceed the amount imported.
