His Excellency Mr. Faris Roumi Al-Naimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Belgrade, held a reception on the occasion of the National day of the State of Qatar, at Hyatt Regency hotel. Approximately 300 guests attended the event, including top ranking officials, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, H.E. Mrs. Maja Gojkovic, as well as H.E. mR. Rade Basta, Minister of Economy, H.E. Mr. Husein Memic, Minister of Tourism and Youth, and H.E. Mr. Edin Djerlek, Minister without prortfolio. In addition to Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine Karadjordjevic, and representatives of the ministries and Governement of the Republic of Serbia. The event was also attended by the heads of diplomatic missions, public figures, representatives of the political and cultural spheres of the Republic of Serbia, in addition to media and press representatives and religious figures.  

In his welcoming speech, His Excellency the Ambassador thanked the guests for joining the celebration of the National Day of Qatar, inoting the importance of marking the eighteenth of December of each year and showing solidarity and unity and love for the homeland, as well as pride in the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, may God protect him. H.E. added that the slogan of Qatar’s National Day 2022 - “Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength,” - affirms the approach of cohesion and solidarity of the people of Qatar to face challenges and achieve objectives.

The Ambassador noted that the celebration of the Qatar National Day is particularly important this year, as it coincidences with Qatar hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which demonstrated Qatar’s cultural identity, economic, security and administrative abilities, and its tangible achievements in all fields. He added that the Qatari people are grateful for the support and praise for the success in organizing this major global humanitarian event, affirming that this unique and inspiring experience is for all humanity as it brought people together and unified feelings.

H.E. the Ambassador stated that the State of Qatar affirmed that the State of Qatar is eager to support all efforts aimed at strengthening cultural relations, and pays great attention to developing its bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Serbia by activating the concluded agreements and intensifying the exchange of visits between senior officials to raise bilateral relations to the highest levels under the wise leadership of His Highness Emir of the State of Qatar, and His Excellency President of the Republic of Serbia.

In conclusion His Excellency the Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the guests for their participation in the celebration of Qatar’s National Day.
