Belgrade / March 28, 2018 / The Council of Arab Ambassadors accredited to Serbia organized a cultural event entitled "Arab-Serbian Friendship", thus marking the establishement of the League of Arab States.

The event was attended by high ranking officials in the Government of the Republic of Serbia including the Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as a representative from the Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia. The event gathered the heads of diplomatic missions and a huge number of Arab and Serbian citizens.

During the event which received wide media coverage, the Dean of Arab Ambassadors in Serbia read the speech delivered by Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia also delivered a speech. The ceremony included a reading of Arabic poetry, discussions about Arabic studies in Serbia and traditional Arabic music and cuisine.
