Qatari Ambassador organized an introductory evening with a select group of media professionals and journalists

Belgrade / 11 November 2019 / H.E. Qatar's Ambassador to Serbia Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al-Thani organized an introductory evening with a select group of media professionals and journalists in Belgrade. The dinner was attended by representatives of the leading media agencies in Serbia, including „Tanjug“, „Fonet“ and „Beta“, editors of weekly magazines „NIN“, „Nedeljnik“ and „Vreme“, representatives of „Aljazeera“, „Prva TV“ and „RTS“, in addition to the president of the publishing house "Color Press Group" and the distinguished Serbian journalist Mira Adana Polak, and a number of prominent political analysts.

In his welcoming speech, H.E. noted that the diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Serbia were established in 1989, and that there was remarkable intensification in the exchange of visits between senior officials since the opening of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Belgrade in 2015.

H.E. also touched on the unjust blockade imposed by some neighboring countries on the State of Qatar for the third year in a row, despite the collapse of all claims made to justify it. H.E. pointed out that the State of Qatar has managed to contain most of the negative effects of the blockade, thanks to its calm and resolute approach to the management of the crisis. He stressed that Qatar's foreign policy considers dialogue as a means to resolve all disputes on the basis of mutual respect, common interests and non-interference in internal affairs.

The dinner was organized with the aim of establishing direct communication with the media in the Republic of Serbia and discussing ways to promote the State of Qatar in the Serbian media.
