Belgrade / May 29, 2020 / Qatar's Ambassador to Serbia H.E. Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al-Thani attended Attends a reception the occasion of the Diplomacy Day in Belgrade. The reception was attended by representatives of the Governemnt of the Republic of Serbia, as well as representatives of NGOs and heads of diplomatic missions.

On the occasion of the Diplomacy Day, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Ivica Dacic spoke about the importance of a competent consular service and a network of consular representative offices of Serbia around the world, which, as he said, bore the greatest burden during the coronavirus pandemic.

Dacic stressed the importance of establishing green corridors in the region, which allow the transportation of medical equipment and basic foodstuffs without hindrance. He added that Serbia has continued in the previous period to strengthen relations with Russia and China comprehensively. Dacic expressed his special gratitude to the countries that have sent humanitarian aid to Serbia, including Qatar, Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Norway, Bulgaria, Austria, France and Hungary.

Dacic awarded the charter for exceptional personal engagement and contribution to the promotion of interests of Serbia and its people in the world to tennis player Novak Djokovic.
