H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that the opening of the "International Hub on Behavioral Insights to Counter Terrorism", in Doha, is an important step and bears many meanings and connotations.

"The International Hub, which came as a result of the agreement signed on the sidelines of the Doha Forum in 2019, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, is the first of its kind in the region and the world to combat terrorism and violent extremism" the minister added in his speech at the opening and inauguration ceremony of the hub in Doha.

He stressed that Qatar’s hosting of this hub "reflects close cooperation with the United Nations Organization," noting that "the opening of this hub today in Doha is a clear message that the State of Qatar is fulfilling its promises, and that it is continuing to consolidate its partnership with the United Nations, strengthening the capacity of the concerned agencies to perform their tasks and contribute effectively to international efforts to combat terrorism and violent extremism."

He stressed that Qatar, realizing the important role of this hub in combating terrorism, has made a financial contribution in the amount of 5 million dollars; to establish and implement its program, over a period of three years.
